How we choose products
Updated September 2026. CosmicGamesHub is not a test lab and we do not sell rankings. A pick is an editorial call built from manufacturer specs, a public pro-share table we actually count, owner reviews we can cite, and typical street prices. If we cannot show the work, we do not stamp a fake number on it.
What we do
- Read spec sheets: weight, sensor, polling, battery, switch/actuation, panel, ports.
- Count public pro share from
data/pros.json— 60 players as of August 2026, each with alastVerifiedmonth. - Use owner reviews (Amazon, Reddit, enthusiast forums) as a signal: what breaks, what is still praised at six months.
- Compare inside a price band. A good $80 mouse does not beat a $30 mouse by existing.
- Date every guide. If the market moved, the intro says when.
What we don’t
- No paid Cosmic lab. We do not run click testers, anechoic chambers, or panel uniformity benches.
- No sponsored rankings. Brands cannot pay to be #1, or to be on the list.
- No fake “12,400 reviews” stamps presented as ours. Amazon’s live count is Amazon’s. We do not mint Cosmic review totals.
- No fake “X% of tracked pros” unless that X is computed from
pros.json. - No invented Amazon prices. Typical street is editorial (~$250). A live deals feed is parked until Amazon Associates is fully accepted and Creators API is allowed. /deals stays empty rather than fake.
- No email list. We do not collect signups to drip product pitches.
How specs are weighted
Marketing copy is ignored. Hard numbers are not equal. Category weights below are the editorial defaults — a game hub can tilt them (Valorant cares more about mouse weight than chair lumbar).

How public owner feedback is used
Owner reviews are a signal, not a Cosmic star. We look for repeated failure modes (scroll wheels, ear-pad peel, wireless dongle dropouts) and for praise that survives the honeymoon. We do not average Amazon stars into a “Cosmic 4.7.” When we quote a customer rating, it is labeled as an Amazon customer rating with a source — not as our score. Editorial verdicts on roundups are written as Cosmic editorial /10 and tagged editorial on purpose.
Pro-share: counted, not invented
The live table is /pros, sourced from data/pros.json. As of the August 2026 snapshot that file holds 60 players (20 VALORANT, 19 CS2, 10 Apex, 11 Fortnite). Examples we can actually compute from that file:
- 14 of 60 (23.3%) list a Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 variant as their mouse.
- 0 of 60 currently list a Razer Viper V3 Pro — three list a Viper V4 Pro. We can still recommend V3 Pro as a 2026 buy (shape, 54g, street price) without pretending it leads this table.
- 15 of 60 (25%) list a Wooting keyboard; 80HE-family is 6/60, 60HE-family is 9/60.
- 11 of 60 (18.3%) list a HyperX Cloud II. Razer BlackShark V3 Pro is 2/60 in this table.
- 44 of 60 (73.3%) list a ZOWIE monitor. Our 2026 LCD buy is still the ASUS XG27ACS — that is a buyer pick, not a pro-share pick, and we say so.
Tools: compare two or three players · find players using a product. If a SKU is not in the JSON, we do not invent a percentage for it.
Pricing
Prices on guides, versus pages, and Find My Gear are typical street, written as ~$250 — editorial, not a live Amazon number. A daily pull via Amazon Creators API is coded but parked: the Associates account is not fully accepted yet, so we cannot fetch offers. Schema.org offer prices in older guides are typical-street too. Check the live Amazon page before you buy.
Update cadence
Each guide is dated in the intro (for example “Updated August 2026”). We revisit a roundup when a launch, a discontinuation, or a street-price collapse would change the #1 we would send a friend — not on a fake 14-day robot cycle. If a page is stale, email hello@cosmicgameshub.com.

Recommendations are not sold. A higher commission does not move a product up the list. The one-liner next to buy buttons is the same sentence: we may earn a commission if you buy through our links; that does not affect the pick.
How products get dropped
A product leaves a “best of” list when it is discontinued, replaced by a clearer default, or no longer honest to recommend as current.
- Anne Pro 2 — 2019 Bluetooth 60%. It is gone from the 2026 keyboard list. Hall Effect Rapid Trigger (Wooting 80HE / 60HE v2) is the competitive default now; a six-year-old membrane-adjacent compact board is history, not a budget pick.
- LG 27GP850 as the 2026 default — it was the 1440p reference for years. It is not the 2026 LCD we would send a friend. The ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS (27" 1440p 180Hz Fast IPS, typical street around $200) is. Keep a 27GP850 if you already own one or find it cheaper used. Dedicated 1440p nostalgia still lives on the older 1440p roundup and versus pages; the flagship monitor guide does not pretend 2021 is 2026.
